Zaliva-D – Immorality [Knekelhuis]

Zaliva-D has managed to create a parallel musical universe in which space-time shrinks to an environment where traditionalism and futurism are mixed. Their roots are derived from traditional oriental music, their sound sources are enriched with tribal sounds and pentatonic tones, and these are susceptible to be modulated or transformed according to the aspect they wish to adopt, since this couple of artists coexist perfectly with purity and transgression.

One year after publishing Forsaken in Knekelhuis, the Dutch label is once again hosting a new launch of this Beijing-based audiovisual project. With Immorality, the drums, powerful percussion and apparent shamanism provoked by the voices are back. With this they manage to create an atmosphere that is difficult to classify; many of the public will classify it as industrial and many others may well consider it more typical of a psychedelic mix that combines the folklore of ancient Asian culture with a modern sound treatment.
