A Body Without – Sigil (Nigh/T\mare Remix) [Mutant Modality]

A Body Without, a recently formed alliance between Ottoman Grüw and 2+2=5, returns following the impact of their debut release on the Aufnahme+Wiedergabe label, which featured Canadian act Orphx. This time, the duo brings together three allies from the more abrasive spectrum of electronic music to reinterpret Sigil, an industrial-leaning track driven by powerful broken-beat rhythms.

The first version comes courtesy of Italian producer Nigh/T\mare, who deconstructs the original over a framework of fractured beats and cinematic nuances. His approach plunges into dark soundscapes and a mystical arpeggiated synth line, trapping the listener in a perpetual state of tension and unease.

Next, Berlin-based artist Velvet May delivers a tribal-infused rendition, a visceral take where the tension remains relentless. Sharpened guitars and rhythmic sequences are pushed to their absolute limits with raw intensity and constant dynamism. Closing out the release is French producer Subsistencia, a recurring figure on Mutant Modality. His remix unleashes an overwhelming density through devastating rhythms intertwined with heavy atmospheric layers.

A Body Without, alianza creada recientemente entre Ottoman Grüw y 2+2=5, regresa d enuevo tras el impacto de su trabajo de presentación en el sello Aufnahme+Wiedergabe, que contó con la participación de los canadienses Orphx. En esta ocasión, el dúo convoca a tres aliados de la vertiente más abrasiva de la música electrónica para reinterpretar Sigil, una pieza de corte industrial impulsada por potentes ritmos brokenbeat.

La primera versión corre a cargo del productor italiano Nigh/T\mare, quien reconstruye el tema sobre una arquitectura de bases fracturadas y matices cinematográficos. Su enfoque queda sumergido en paisajes sonoros oscuros y una línea arpegiada que le otorga un carácter místico, consiguiendo así atrapar al oyente en un estado perpetuo de tensión e inquietud.

A continuación, el berlinés Velvet May despliega una relectura de aire tribal, con una versión visceral donde la tensión no da tregua. En su reinterpretación, las guitarras afiladas y las secuencias rítmicas son llevadas hasta el límite, impulsadas con crudeza y con un dinamismo constante. El cierre lo firma el francés Subsistencia, figura recurrente en Mutant Modality. Su remezcla desata una densidad abrumadora mediante ritmos devastadores entrelazados con capas atmosféricas.
