Donna Haringwey – Inside The Vampires Castle [Strange Therapy]

Donna Haringwey returns two years later to Strange Therapy. Possibly, and without detracting from the work of other labels in which the British producer has participated, Strange Therapy is the label that currently best fits her visceral sound, or at least that’s how many of us remember it, as it comes to mind, in addition to her great contribution with Venal, other projects that appear in the catalogue of the Dutch platform such as Iron Sight or The Marquis.

The grit, energy and originality that Donna Haringwey gives off in her music is her best asset, together with her particular way of placing the listener in a chaotic, schizophrenic and unpredictable scenario, nevertheless, and after several listens, it can be affirmed that Inside The Vampires Castle is an album in which the author shows a quite significant evolution with respect to her previous releases.

With both Venal and Thanks For Telling Me Who I Really Am, we perceived her authentic personality and her enormous potential to generate intense and detailed works, with Inside The Vampires Castle we continue to observe a similar attitude, however, in this new album Donna Haringwey employs new resources. To the usual development of her works, with the play of different voices, with extreme treatments that can easily be qualified as noise, and with highly unstable and variable rhythms, we can add a much more electronic and elaborate sound and textures.

Inside The Vampires Castle is undoubtedly the progress and evolution of Donna Haringwey.
