Lagware – nine-Ø-F

Last March Lagware let us know that after releasing eight-Ø-F, a series of releases with a similar concept would follow. With eight-Ø-F, the Spanish producer paid homage to Roland’s legendary TR-808 drum machine, with a release created entirely with this machine, although he later reprocessed all the sounds to create a personal sound environment.

The style of eight-Ø-F is geared towards electro, however, Laqware is a versatile producer and is skilled enough to work with any genre of music he can get his hands on and strip it down and rebuild it all over again. Now he presents nine-Ø-F, a new tribute to Roland’s legendary drum machines, this time referencing the TR-909 and with a style that veers more towards techno. There are 3 tracks in which Lagware demonstrates with mastery why great record projects like Axis were fixed on him, since he manages to create from innumerable rhythmic structures and multiple treatments, a perfect compensation in each track.

Having released eight-Ø-F and nine-Ø-F, releases in which he pays homage to Roland’s TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines respectively, we are waiting for him to release five-Ø-F, six-Ø-F and seven-Ø-F in a few weeks or months. These three remaining releases will be dedicated to Roland’s TR-505, TR-606 and TR-707 machines. They will be released in no particular order and without a stipulated date, but the author is offering all this repertoire for free on his Bandcamp profile.
