Marnyc – Caliper [Signal Rec]

Caliper is the debut EP in Signal Rec from the French producer Marnyc. He is a sheep breeder from France where he gets recording a lot of ambiances and sounds from his farm and this is where his inspiration comes from. With his eclectic and powerful sound, Marnyc delivers 2 originals loaded with synthetic arrangements and great atmospheres.

About the 2 originals tracks in Caliper, Marnyc had been inspired by a 120kms hike in the Alps he’d done recently. He’d incorporated a lot of field recordings inside and his goal was to reflect the hypnotism of the mountains and the suffering of climbing.

Drop-E reviews the main title in his own cosmic mood, where there was punch now its deepness and sci-fi.

Closing the release and making his debut in Signal Rec, Robert Johnstone reworks ‘Viso’ adding layers of sound in one of his most scientific works to date where he transforms the track into a dark journey.
