Principe Valiente – I Am You (Bootblacks Remix – Principe Valiente Edit) [Metropolis Records]

The Swedish dream pop group Príncipe Valiente releases an exclusive remix of their track I Am You by Brooklyn-based post-punk band Bootblacks. I Am You was originally released in 2022 as a single from the album Barricades, the fourth full-length album by Príncipe Valiente and their debut on Metropolis Records. At the time, it was accompanied by remixes from American artists Astari Nite and Solemn Youth (Adam Stilson of New Canyons). Shortly after, another exceptional remix by Bootblacks emerged, but it remained unfinished. Refusing to let such a powerful reinterpretation fade into obscurity, the band revisited and reworked it to finally release it.

El grupo sueco de dream pop Príncipe Valiente lanza una remezcla inédita de su pista I Am You a cargo de la banda de post-punk Bootblacks, con sede en Brooklyn, Nueva York. I Am You se publicó originalmente en 2022 como single del álbum Barricades, el cuarto larga duración de Príncipe Valiente y su debut en Metropolis Records. En aquel momento se acompañó de remezclas de los estadounidenses Astari Nite y Solemn Youth (Adam Stilson de New Canyons). Poco después apareció otra remezcla excepcional de Bootblacks, pero quedó inacabada. Negándose a dejar que una reinterpretación tan poderosa se desvanezca en el olvido, la banda la ha revisitado y reelaborado para definitivamente publicarla.

Barricades was followed in 2024 by In This Light, an album that marked a bold move in Príncipe Valiente’s evolution over more than a decade. Their meticulously crafted songs reveal the ethereal soundscapes and dark ambient charm that initially propelled them onto the alternative scene with their self-titled debut in 2011.

Barricades fue seguido en 2024 por In This Light, un álbum que marcó un movimiento audaz en la evolución de más de una década de Príncipe Valiente. Sus canciones meticulosamente elaboradas dejan al descubierto los paisajes sonoros etéreos y el encanto ambiental oscuro que inicialmente los impulsó a la escena alternativa con su debut autotitulado de 2011.

Featuring Mellotron and analog synthesizers harmonized with the celestial resonance of 12-string Rickenbacker and Gretsch guitars played by Jimmy Ottosson, the album is enriched with melodic piano and distinctive distorted bass, all wrapped in the enigmatic vocals of Fernando Honorato.

Mellotron y sintetizadores analógicos armonizados con la resonancia celestial de las guitarras Rickenbacker de 12 cuerdas y Gretsch tocadas por Jimmy Ottosson, el álbum se enriquece con un piano melódico y un bajo distorsionado distintivo, todo ello envuelto en la enigmática voz de Fernando Honorato.
