The Ultimate Dreamers – Forced to Live [Komakino Records / Echozone]

Barely a year and a half after their previous record, Brussels quartet The Ultimate Dreamers return to the scene with Forced to Live, the lead single anticipating their upcoming LP, Lost Oneironaut, set for release in March 2027.

This opening track blends classic, melancholic post-punk with new sonic directions. Driven by the lament of sorrowful guitars and built upon a cadence-heavy rhythm section, the song evokes the march-like grind of everyday monotony. Lyrically, the philosophical imprint of Albert Camus permeates the track, suspending the discourse in a tense balance between lucid despair and a serene, almost devout resignation. «Forced to Live» immerses the listener in a web of hypnotic textures and melodic contrasts, where structural rawness remains permanently intertwined with a profound emotional fragility.

To bring this first glimpse of Lost Oneironaut to life, the band enlisted the expertise of two key figures in the European alternative circuit: Déhà (a core architect of Wolvennest’s sound) and Len Lemeire (a mainstay of Implant and frequent collaborator of Anne Clark), who further solidifies his partnership with the group after years handling their production. With this single, The Ultimate Dreamers deliver an incisive statement of intent, forecasting a forthcoming body of work defined by dense atmosphere, an organic core, and a distinctly shadowy craftsmanship.

Apenas un año y medio después de su anterior entrega discográfica, el cuarteto de Bruselas The Ultimate Dreamers reaparece en la escena con Forced to Live, un primer adelanto que anticipa la llegada de su próximo LP, Lost Oneironaut, programado para marzo de 2027.

Este tema de apertura mezcla el estilo clásico del post-punk melancólico con nuevos sonidos. Guiado por el lamento de unas guitarras afligidas, el tema se vertebra sobre la cadencia de la percusión y evoca el avance de una marcha forzada en medio de la monotonía cotidiana. En el plano lírico, la impronta filosófica de Albert Camus impregna la composición, suspendiendo el discurso en un equilibrio tenso entre la desesperanza más lúcida y una resignación serena, casi devota. Forced to Live sumerge al oyente en un entramado de texturas hipnóticas y contrastes melódicos, donde la aspereza estructural se entrelaza de forma permanente con una acusada fragilidad emocional.

Para materializar este primer trabajo de Lost Oneironaut, la banda ha sumado la pericia de dos figuras cruciales del circuito alternativo europeo, como son Déhà (artífice fundamental en el sonido de Wolvennest) y Len Lemeire (pilar del proyecto Implant y colaborador habitual de Anne Clark), quien además consolida su alianza con la formación tras años a cargo de su producción.
