Prequel Tapes – The Golden Cage Remixes [Veyl Records]

We are very pleased that Veyl has resumed its activity after a break that has been going on since the beginning of last summer, and as the label’s managers themselves indicate, they plan to release a number of albums and EPs, the first of which will see the light of day in just a few days.

In the first release of this new era of the Italian platform, Veyl Records revisits The Golden Cage, an album released by Prequel Tapes in 2022 that emerged from a traumatic experience of the author himself. Marco Freivogel exhibited with this release a great skill to create a very personal sonic context through harmony, rhythmic design and the sensorial exploration of its textures.

The Golden Cage Remixes is made up of six tracks, six versions by artists such as the Colombian Filmmaker, who manages to project a chaotic and cerebral scenario in «Mind Corner». The energetic character of Australian producer Jensen Interceptor is perfect for interpreting the dynamism of «I Hate You». British artist IMOGEN adds forcefulness to the electro-robotic «Stranger or Lover». DJ Loser also turns «Alone» into an extreme piece, with a much more aggressive punch and speed than the original track. American artist Vaal appeases the activity of the previous producers with a remix of «Last Things» in which he delves into an abstract and twisted world. He closes the album with ‘I Hate You (Prequel Tapes Salvage Mix)’, a new interpretation of this track by Prequel Tapes.
