Chalk Teeth – Struck

Chalk Teeth, a band based in Los Angeles though formed by musicians with roots in New York and Oakland, has released their debut single titled Struck. The song is described as a ballad for the dance floor that tackles the theme of obsessive love from a melancholic perspective, with a sound identifiable within a style that could be defined as minimal wave.

The group’s sound is characterized by a dark wave foundation with shoegaze influences. In Struck, this translates into instrumentation that combines synthesizers, guitars with noise-rock textures, and the programming of a drum machine that sets a constant pulse. Both the single and the future album are the result of a completely self-managed process, having been written, recorded, and mixed in their own rehearsal space in North Hollywood. The band emphasizes that no artificial intelligence was used in the creation of this work, presenting their music as an expression of human elements such as imperfection and direct experience. Throughout 2025, the group has been active in the Los Angeles and New York scenes, laying the groundwork for the release of their studio material.
