UKR unites the tribes with a release of epic proportions. To celebrate the 25th year anniversary of Chancellor – ‘Insane’, originally released on Jay Denham‘s ‘Black Nation Records‘, UKR and Chancellor teamed up to curate something powerful and unique. Chancellor aka Chance McDermott has been a fixture in the Midwest funky techno scene and around the globe since the mid-nineties, releasing his raw and dynamic techno on heavy-hitting labels such as Black Nation, Missile, and Sativae. Originating from Kalamazoo, Michigan his productions take elements from both Detroit and Chicago, combining them into his own jacking, melodic and edgy warehouse tracks. A prime example of this deadly style of underground weaponry is Chancellor’s ‘Insane’. An anthem for the true heads, ‘Insane’ is a burner with its chopped-up synth line…transformed, filtered, and tweaked to jack you to another dimension. Fierce and twisted in every way, this is a legendary piece of techno artillery that has been dropped by the likes of French legend Laurent Garnier to the ‘Baron of Techno’ Dave Clarke, and still to this day stands the test of time. Chancellor brings pure attitude with this catchy and timelessly effective techno heater.

To celebrate the 25th year of his epic track being released, Chancellor reached out to a select group of his respected musical peers to give their own interpretations of the original. All shades of techno are represented here including an electro version, so there is most assuredly a version to float the boat of any techno aficionado.
