Die Sexual – Bound EP

A couple of months ago the debut EP of a new musical project based in Los Angeles was released. We know little about this duo, although listening to this release, and watching the videos they have shared, we can affirm that we have been quite seduced by their music and their staging. It is a new project formed by Anton Floriano, member of the band Black Light Odyssey, of which we remember the EP they released in 2021 on the Catalan label Oráculo Records, together with his wife Rosselinni on vocals.

Die Sexual draws on influences such as ebm, darkwave and techno. The rhythmic forcefulness and the powerful analogue sound emanating from the synthesizers are mixed with the captivating tones of Rosselinni’s voice, creating between both concepts an aura of romanticism and seduction perfectly integrated.

Bound is an EP with three tracks reflecting dynamic interaction that deepens connections and intimacy. A track like «Bound, I Rise» is about the «dance of control» of relationships, finding confidence and power in assuming the dominant role while on the next track, «On This Night», the narrative is flipped to completely submitting to our desires. The final track «Fate Awaits» contemplates this interplay on another level, being chained to one’s own thoughts of despair and uncertainty before the final realization that «fate awaits only in my own hands», a taking back of control.

Driven by the duo’s shared love of electronic music, the Bound EP was crafted in their home studio of vintage analog and modular synthesizers and was fueled by their inspiration from classic EBM and modern techno. The hope is for the listeners to share in the musical journey, on the dancefloors, in the basements and in the bedrooms.
