STARVVING es una inquietante exploración de la conexión y la supervivencia en un mundo que se acelera, donde las emociones intensas y la fantasía colisionan. dvdv y el productor Poly Armour tejen un tapiz simbiótico de voces etéreas, ritmos electrónicos pulsantes y pop experimental que captura el hambre de significado en medio del caos. The album’s title, STARVVING, is itself a wordplay encapsulating its dual essence: on one hand, the desperate hunger for human connection (starving), and on the other, the fleeting beauty of the celestial (star-wing), an allusion to heavenly beings, pop stars, human mortality, or a comet streaking across the sky, a fleeting moment of dramatic brilliance in the vast universe.

El título del álbum, STARVVING, es en sí mismo un juego de palabras que encapsula su esencia dual: por un lado, el hambre desesperada de conexión humana (starving), y por el otro, la fugacidad y belleza de lo celestial (star-wing), una alusión a seres celestiales, estrellas del pop, la mortalidad humana o un cometa cruzando el cielo, un momento fugaz de brillo dramático en el vasto universo.

STARVVING vibrates at the frequencies of both the digital and natural realms, pulsing with waves of electronic grooves and sharp lashes of industrialized reverb before bursting into a fertile, feverish dream of crickets, wind, and dvdv’s vocals. As warm as a sunbeam spilling from the next room, as cold as the memory of frostbite, the auditory ecstasy woven by their voice comforts and consumes alike, pleading and prophesying as melodic structures melt around them. Poly Armour’s compositions expand and contract, panting like births before shivering into a chimeric daze of disintegrating dance and pop experimentalism. This, too, is as fleeting as a fantasy; as soon as the connection is established, it is reabsorbed into a mantle of shimmering ambience, only to be reshaped and reborn again.

STARVVING vibra en las frecuencias de los reinos digital y natural, pulsando con oleadas de grooves electrónicos y latigazos afilados de reverberación industrializada antes de estallar en un sueño febril y fértil de grillos, viento y las vocales de dvdv. Tan cálido como un rayo de sol proveniente de la habitación de al lado, tan frío como el recuerdo de una congelación, el entramado de éxtasis auditivo tejido por su garganta consuela y consume por igual, suplicando y profetizando mientras las estructuras de la melodía se funden a su alrededor. Las composiciones de Poly Armour se expanden y contraen, jadeando como nacimientos antes de estremecerse en un quimérico mareo de baile desintegrante y experimentalismo pop. Esto, también, es tan fugaz como una fantasía; tan pronto como se establece la conexión, es absorbida de nuevo en un manto de ambiencia reluciente, para ser reformada y renacer de nuevo.

First brought together in 2018 with the single “Disbelief” and propelled further when their 2020 single “Overheaded” topped Beatport’s Best New Electronica chart, dvdv & Poly Armour have released two EPs together, evolving from the harsher, matte textures of EP1 and EP2 into a polished creation that reflects our chaotic era and the anguish it breeds.

Reunidos por primera vez en 2018 con el sencillo “Disbelief” e impulsados después de que su sencillo de 2020 “Overheaded” encabezara la lista Best New Electronica de Beatport, dvdv & Poly Armour han lanzado dos EPs juntos, evolucionando desde las texturas más duras y mates de EP1 y EP2 hacia una creación pulida que refleja nuestra era caótica y la angustia que engendra.
