Eve Schwarz feat. Dolgener – Coping Mechanism [Mutant Modality]

Coping Mechanism is the first instalment of a collaborative project that stems from the original track by Eve Schwarz, carrying with it the raw soundscapes of Berlin’s noise and industrial techno scene. The result is a mechanical ammunition of devastating and forward-thinking rhythms, featuring Canadian noise engineer Dolgener, who takes on a menacing vocal role, evoking the darkest intersections between industrial metal and power electronics. A truly unique collaboration between these two artists.

Coping Mechanism es la primera entrega de un proyecto colaborativo que surge a partir del tema original de Eve Schwarz, llevando consigo los paisajes sonoros crudos de la escena de noise y techno industrial de Berlín. El resultado es una munición mecánica de ritmos devastadores y vanguardistas, con la participación del ingeniero de ruido canadiense Dolgener, quien aquí asume un papel amenazante en las voces, evocando los cruces más oscuros entre el metal industrial y la electrónica de poder. Una colaboración verdaderamente única entre estos dos artistas.

To build on this momentum, both agreed to invite like-minded Berlin-based producers, such as Tresor resident Liza Aikin and Hands label affiliate, Templer. They joined the project, delivering highly personal reinterpretations with bleak, hypnotic, and rhythm-focused compositions. Liza Aikin presents a raw, hard-hitting techno approach, while Templer bursts in with his signature harsh and syncopated drum style.

Para darle continuidad de la mejor manera, ambos acordamos invitar a productores afines de Berlín, como la residente de Tresor, Liza Aikin, y el afiliado al sello Hands, Templer. Ambos se unieron a este proyecto, aportando reinterpretaciones muy personales con composiciones sombrías, hipnóticas y centradas en el ritmo. Liza Aikin presenta un techno directo y crudo, mientras que Templer irrumpe con su característico estilo de percusión dura y sincopada.

And there was still room for two more interpretations. One of these remixes comes from Mutant Modality founder Ottoman Grüw, who offers a very personal vocal remix, filled with atmospheric chaos, a Techno-EBM banger designed for the dance floor of a dystopian goth club. The EP closes with Paris-based producer and DJ Substencia, who contributes her eerie technoid aesthetic, layered with dark ambient textures.

Y todavía quedaría espacio para dos interpretaciones más. Una de estas remezclas corre a cargo del  fundador de Mutant Modality, Ottoman Grüw, quien ofrece un remix vocal muy personal, lleno de caos atmosférico: un percutor de Techno-EBM orientado a la pista de baile de un club gótico distópico. El EP cierra con la productora y DJ parisina Substencia, quien aporta su inquietante estética technoide con capas de dark ambient.
