Obwigszyh – Relikvia [Exiles]

Obwigszyh returns to Exiles after releasing Personal Data in 2020, an album on which he was conditioned by the isolation suffered during the first months of confinement due to Covid-19. However, the Hungarian producer had debuted on the label a year earlier, sharing a release with his partner and fellow producer Normál Tamás. Obwigszyh, in addition to working as a DJ and producer, is also co-founder, together with Normál Tamás and Adam Krasz, of Műhely, a platform that operates as an artists’ collective and also, since 2018, as a record label.

We can observe a significant shift between Shards, Obwigszyh’s last album, and Personal Data. Musically, Personal Data is a heterogeneous work in which the author shows great creative skill, as each track has its own storyline and does not rely on a connection with the rest of the cuts, but rather is engendered from a unique mood. With Shards, Obwigszyh is more introspective, the author himself says that with this album he intends to escape from the world and any unnecessary stimuli, relaxing body and mind until the passage of time manages to erase all existence.
