Samuli Kemppi – A Distressed Note [Rhod Records]
Rhod Records opened last year Black Box with an EP by Spanish producer Eduardo De La Calle, this series of releases is different from the rest by using vinyl as a format. Now, after a few months comes the second reference of Black Box, this time is Samuli Kemppi who signs Reversal Rehearsals, EP with four cuts of percussive techno, with large spaces and a lot of depth.
The 4 tracks of Reversal Rehearsals are created live. Samuli Kemppi builds, arranges and records each of them live using old material with advanced techniques.
The A side opens with Half Bar Burst, direct techno, with a lot of Groove and an exquisite treatment in every sound detail. Sifting Gravel is a powerful low-frequency passage that emerges from the abyss itself. Reversal Rehearsals is the third track, the first on the B side, kick hard with a constant cadence and imposing drones. A Distressed Note is a track with multiple rhythmic elements, one of which varies its tonality giving hypnotism to the work.
Now you can listen to A Distressed Note for the first time.
Release date: July 30th, 2019.
