Sommerfeld – Over Twice the Speed of Light [Ryu Recordings]

Ryu Recordings is a young label operating since the summer of 2022, a London-based record label owned by Peter Adjobia, known artistically as Dragon and member with Paul Jetten of the duo Dragon & Jettenbach. Peter is also known for his former DJ residency at London club Slimelight, as well as having released music on major labels such as Ant-Zen, World Serpent, Point Source Electronic Arts, Component Recordings and Errorgrid.

Ryu Recordings started with a first release by Dragon, its head, and now presents the second reference with a four-track EP by Sommerfeld, an artist whose origin and identity we do not know, as his aim is to work anonymously and not to provide any information about the project.

Sommerfeld brings fine detailed structure to this EP, a constant high level of work to each track , giving it a seemingly dimensionless quality, an angular momentum, which harmonises the strength of electromagnetic force governing the shape of the EP with the interaction of spectral lines and experimental sounds. A diffraction, a propagation, of audio that makes up the standard model of these electrically charged tracks.

Alpha 137 will be released on 1st March 2023 on Bandcamp on a very limited mini CD-r and digital, which will be Name Your Price for the first week only and will be available on all streaming services.
