Splinter (UA) – Slanet [Dystant Recordings]

The Italian label Dystant Recordings has been active for a little over a year and in its latest release it bets on the special colorfulness of Ukrainian techno, led by Stanislav Tolkachev, although this time Tolkachev only contributes with the graphic creativity of the album. Even so, his influence is perceived in the same way with the work of his fellow countrymen Splitner (UA) and Friedensreich.

QuestionQuestionQuestion is an eight-track album with a swinging harmonic development, with infinite and changing arpeggios, and with a wide tonal frequency, which means that the audible spectrum is practically represented in this whole release. The high sound frequencies are combined with other melodic chords positioned in the mid line and in the bass line, thus managing to penetrate the mind of each individual.

In addition to its harmonic nature, it should be noted that the sound of this album is not bright and sharp, but shows a certain tolerance towards a worn-out aesthetic, with a minimum degree of distortion.
