The Stroymachine – Renesonanza

The Stroymachine, a DIY industrial music collective from Slovenia, is a group composed of virtuoso percussionists, multi-instrumentalists and innovative creators, ardently exploring the frontiers of musical possibilities. Despite their predisposition and character for industrial sound, their artistic expression is not limited to any particular genre or style, but they revel in varied soundscapes and textures, ranging from the resonant clangor of machines to the pulsating beats of techno, dub, jazz, trance, Latin music, experimental and beyond.

The Stroymachine’s creative ethos focuses on creating music and performances that stimulate the human senses, meet their own exacting standards and connect deeply with their audience. They recycle a wide range of materials, both useful and discarded, to create their own musical machines.

The first full-length album by the Industrial DIY group The Stroymachine is titled «Renesonanza,» marking their most mature work to date. The album’s title is a symbolic combination of the words «RENAISSANCE» and «RESONANCE,» reflecting a period spanning over a decade characterized by transformation, creativity, exploration, and resistance against established norms. The album represents a sonic rebirth symbolizing the transition from the past to the future.

Remaining faithful to their DIY approach, the album was entirely self-recorded in their rehearsal spaces using instruments they crafted themselves, mainly from recycled materials. The departure from their sonic past is evident in the album through expanded elements of harmony, polyphony, the inclusion of vocals, sound textures, and sounds from everyday environments. In addition to established forms and compositions, the album also incorporates a significant amount of improvisation and aleatoric (random) elements that delve into the genres of noise, dub, electronic, ambient, tribal, and experimental music.
