Ultra – Eins [Self-released]

Ultra is a project intended to operate as a musical band, although it only consists of one member. The German artist Lena Heiler, under her alias Das Ultra, created this project in 2019, conditioned by the mental pressure and sadness caused by the loss of someone close to her. Lena produces gloomy electronic music with an inevitable urge to hit the dance floor. The style is deeply rooted in Power Noise (Rhythm ‘n’ Noise). Ultra is a synthesis of artistic concepts, which isn’t limited to the boundaries of music. Noises evolve to connect different art forms. For example, the debut album Eins (German for «one»), which was eleased in June 2021, ends with a recitation of German-born Swiss poet Hermann Hesse’s poem «Im Nebel».

As for the sound of the album, Eins shows a quite particular style in which diverse textures are combined that apparently have no connection between them, such as dissonances, electromagnetic pulses, chords or electronic rhythms, however, the development of each track forms a homogeneous body, with several sound lines of different nature.
