V Anniversary Fill-Lex Records
Fill-Lex Records celebrates five years in business, demonstrating daily that the project is designed with defined musical canons, basically centred on a sound that feeds on genres such as EBM, although it also adds the strength of techno, as its catalogue is designed for both the dancefloor and for more recreational environments.
The label celebrates its fifth anniversary this coming Friday 2 September in the Valencian venue 16 Toneladas, with five great proposals combining live performances and DJ sets, and the highlight of the night is Years of Denial, the other side of the French musician, DJ and producer Jerome Tcherneyan and the Czech artist, DJ and producer Barkosina Hanusova. Using hardware combined with vocals and a plethora of dub devices, YOD revisit the dark corner of Post Punk, the industrial music movement and Rave culture. Their live electro performances fuse repetitive rhythms and pulsating arpeggios with heavy electronics and a spatially psychedelic sonic treatment. Barkosina’s voice resonates and oscillates against the snares, deep and wounded at the same time. Her dark romanticism and narrative poetry take us to unfamiliar but familiar places. The duo operates on the dancefloor without anaesthesia, creating a sombre and electrifying atmosphere.
Another artist performing live is Julio Tornero, the alias under which the restless musician from La Mancha explores sounds close to electro, EBM and acid. His latest material, which will be released soon and with which he delights us live, is even closer to the most cosmic idm. Analogue leads with throbbing synthesizers. Machinic, danceable rhythms and toxic experimentation.
Javato will be in charge of the third live set of the night. Javi Ribes started messing around with synthesizers a couple of years ago, when he bought his first drum machine and since then he fell in love with electronic music. What captivated him the most was the sounds of the 80’s Valencia scene, from which he has been drinking since he was a child, the forcefulness of new beat or the elegance of electro… influences that he tries to follow in his Javato project. He has always been playing in punk bands and different styles. He produces everything with analogue synthesizers, his music is a mix of classic synthesized sounds coming from new beat, electro and early 90’s European techno.
To end the night, attendees will be able to enjoy dj sets by Orco, owner of Fill-Lex Records and organizer of this event, and also SOJ, owner of Soil Records, an artist who has toured the world performing in venues in New York, Medellin, Bogota, Berlin, London and many Spanish cities. His sessions range from EBM, dark disco and industrial techno.
