VA – Dark To Black [Still Distant Records]

Still Distant returns a few years later to the shared album format in which on this occasion, the second time it has released an album signed by various authors, it shows the Scottish label’s own style, as the selection of artists participating is divided between some regulars, such as New Town Ground and Paulitical, owners of the label, as well as Swærm, GBxCL and Kenny Campbell, and many other producers who are joining the project for the first time, such as Duellist, Das Monstrvm, Co-Accused, Damaged Clock, Denziens and Monknash.

In addition to a fantastic line-up of artists, Dark To Black shows a sonic development based on styles such as industrial techno and influences such as EBM, so we can find both extremes, that is, from the most techno side, as is the case of Sonicswarm by Co-Accused, to a more purist EBM facet such as Delving Into Chaos by Denziens. However, between both alternatives we find different interpretations that perfectly converge between both paths.

Dark To Balck is first and foremost a great collection of music, designed from the sound spectrum of the label itself.
