2xirtam – Quantum Worlds [Carpe Sonum Records]
2xirtam reappears in the American label Carpe Sonum Records with a new album, the second one published by this young project formed by Frank Rumpelt and Lee Norris. With Quantized Memories (2018) they already showed us a musical approach based on the rapid evolution of electronic music compared to the rest of musical genres, an evolution that is directly connected with technological development and scientific progress, matters that have a great influence on their compositions.
With this second album, 2xirtam repeat the same formula as in the previous one and reconnect quantum physics with textures, nuances and futuristic sound structures. This scientific inspiration is manifested in the result of the album; in the sonorous nexus that unites each track and in a style of advanced electronics elaborated for demanding consumers.
Quantum Worlds is not simply the fruit of a new project, behind this complete sound is the veteranship of its two components. Lee Norris is a producer with more than 20 years of experience and innumerable aliases and projects. In the mid 90’s he published albums like Matematics and in 2000 he founded Neo Ouija, a record label that is still active. Rumpelt’s trajectory is not as extensive as Norris’s but, although it is in recent years that we have seen him most active, he took his first steps as a producer in the late 1990s.
Release date: December 16th, 2019.
