MindPort – TV Mist

We are aware that the confinement caused by the covid pandemic was very negative for the whole community of artists and musicians who saw their economy diminished, however, this fact provoked producers and composers to delve into another creative mode linked to emotion and introspection. New projects also emerged from afar, among them MindPort, a band with a style that oscillates between industrial synthwave, alternative cold wave and cybernetic retro-electronic sounds.

MindPort currently has four members: VA1 is a passionate singer with a college diploma in music. She has been a member of several metal bands over the years. She is also currently the lead singer of a Quebec City thrash-power metal band. She has also taught singing for several years. Her influences include Cristina Scabbia, Floor Jansen and Jeff Martin, to name a few. RGB is a multidisciplinary artist from Quebec City who works as a musician, cartoonist, graphic artist, video artist and more. Over the years, he has been a founding member of a number of musical projects, both composition and tribute or thematic issues, and has also produced solo albums. L0U is a self-taught bassist, but also a great technology enthusiast. He loves programming and automating musical shows using digital tools. Before his arrival on the synthwave scene, he took part of progressive death metal bands and power metal, which explains his ease on his fetish instrument. MG3 is a creative artist from Quebec City who works as a musician (synthesizers) and excels in musical improvisation. His influences range from industrial techno to Front Line Assembly and Front 242.

MindPort is a Quebec-based band, was formed as a virtual duo formula during the pandemic in 2020 and released its debut album, Cybernetic Testimonial, in March 2021. The album, produced with very few resources, and quite quickly, has nevertheless been played on several occasions, both in the Quebec City region and internationally.

In the winter of 2022, the project became a band! A bassist and keyboardist joined and have formed the band ever since. Work then began on composing and producing the second album, MetaPerverse. The album was released on major platforms on October 1, 2022. In winter 2023, the band recruits a new singer in the person of VA1 (Valérie Bradet). Now back as a quartet, MindPort embarked on a new chapter, performing live in their new format and composing new material. Recently MindPort has just released a new single named TV Mist.
