Czitrom x OOO – Monkeyhazard [Exiles]

Tendril is a sonic landscape, its formations are taking the shape of a constantly rearranging mechanical organism. The Hungarian label Exiles is recording this first meeting of the two musicians on an album that was recorded in the course of two sessions held in the slums of Budapest’s 8th district.

Adam Czitrom has been recognized as one of the more versatile and sought after guitar voices of his generation on the Budapest underground and experimental scene. Growing up in Israel, he began his musical training early in his adolescence. Since living in Hungary he worked on countless projects both as a sideman and a bandleader with a repertoire ranging from rock through jazz to contemporary improvisation. In 2008 he received a scholarship to pursue a degree in jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a composer he has been often engaged in writing and producing film scores and theater music. The present material captures a new creative venture on his part into electronic music.

OOO aka Márton Csernovszky may be familiar from bands like Deus Ex, Osaka Crack, Drť, Sickpicknic, MORDÁI, Kinetic Erotic and the late Best Bad Trip. As an experienced jazz musician and multi-instrumentalist Csernovszky playfully mixes his acoustic samples with metallic sounds of modular synths, scored music for contemporary dance performances, but we have also could hear an homage to Górecki infused with gloomy ambient techno on his debut album (Sírversek I-VI, 2019).
