Nørus – Surrounding Sequences

Nørus is the solo project of Brazilian Felipe Bortoloti, a music producer, sound engineer and record producer based in Porto, Portugal. During the last five years Nørus has been releasing independently and also for labels such as Egothermia Records, Gestalt Records, Deviant Episode or Nerang Recordings, and with an interesting variety of styles in which he demonstrates above all creative versatility and a good command to efficiently process any record.

Reviewing Nørus’ previous releases we can see that his style can drift towards genres such as electro, techno, acid, deep house, breaks or experimental structures, however, Nørus’ sound on Surrounding Sequences is described as IDM, braindance, breakbeat and techno, inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, µ-Ziq and Autechre. This EP showcases the artist’s ability to create complex and dynamic soundscapes that are stimulating and captivating. 

Surrounding Sequences are three distinct processes that draw on polyrhythms and sophisticated structures, three original tracks to which we must add a fourth in which his compatriot Vitor Munhoz creates a version of Brainsuckers, the first track of this EP.
