S.I.B. – Swelling Itching Brain [Other Voices Records]

The early 1990s were for Peter Andersson an absolute explosion of ideas. It was a period in which musicians and producers expanded their proposals from multiple fronts, and in the case of the Swedish artist it fragmented into several projects. Necrophorus, Dementia, raison d’être or S.I.B. were four proposals that emerged at the beginning of the 90s and, moreover, overlapped. As happened with many bands and artists with ephemeral projects, they were active but never bothered to release their music, possibly because it was not easy to find a suitable record label or simply because there was never any interest in releasing it.

Los primeros años de los 90 fueron para Peter Andersson un absoluto estallido de ideas. Fue una época en la que músicos y productores expandieron sus propuestas desde múltiples frentes, y en el caso del artista sueco se fragmentó en varios proyectos. Necrophorus, Dementia, raison d’être o S.I.B. fueron cuatro propuestas que emergieron a inicios de la década de los 90 y además, se solaparon. Como sucedió en muchas bandas y artistas con proyectos efímeros, estuvieron activos pero nunca se preocuparon en lanzar su música, posiblemente porque no resultaba sencillo encontrar una discográfica acorde o simplemente, porque nunca hubo interés en publicarla.

All this happened while Peter Andersson was taking his first steps with raison d’être, possibly his greatest musical achievement, and before founding Stratvm Terror. However, Peter Andersson is back again but this time with S.I.B., a defunct project that was active between 1991 and 1993 and never released anything until the last decade. From his label Yantra Atmospheres he released an album in 2012 in which he showed part of the legacy of S.I.B. He returns again with this alias with Swelling Itching Brain, an album in which he recovers a collection of tracks, from demos recorded in his day.

Todo esto sucedió mientras Peter Andersson daba los primeros pasos con raison d’être, posiblemente su mayor logro musical, y antes de fundar Stratvm Terror. No obstante, Peter Andersson vuelve de nuevo pero esta vez lo hace con S.I.B., proyecto extinto que estuvo activo entre 1991 y 1993 y del que nunca publicó nada hasta la pasada década. Desde su sello Yantra Atmospheres lanzó un álbum en 2012 en el que mostró parte del legado de S.I.B. De nuevo regresa con este alias con Swelling Itching Brain, álbum en el que recupera una colección de temas, de demos grabados en su día.

At first S.I.B. played a synth-EBM mix, but later, in 1993, S.I.B. adopted a rougher style that would become the seed of Stratvm Terror. Some of S.I.B.’s later tracks were even used for Stratvm Terror.

Al principio S.I.B. tocaba una mezcla de synth-EBM, pero más tarde, en 1993, S.I.B. adoptó un estilo más áspero que se convertiría en la semilla de Stratvm Terror. Algunos de los últimos temas de S.I.B. se utilizaron incluso para Stratvm Terror.
