Grove Anemone – Pęknięcia [Ubocze Rec.]
Operating under the alias Grove Anemone, Jakub Sobieralski presents himself as a musical confabulator, an architect of personal electronic ecstasies that respond to the collective introversion of our time. His work is a form of environmental escapism, a sonic refuge that he complements with a parallel output of what he calls «mediocre prose, poetry, and graphics.» This Polish artist, originally from Wrocław (Breslau), is one of the most active and consistent pillars of the Ubocze Rec. label, with which he has released his entire discography over the last three years, weaving an inseparable creative symbiosis with the identity of the city they both share.
His new work for the label, titled Pęknięcia (Cracks), is an auditory immersion into the substrata of apparent daily calm. The album explores that unsettling moment when home ceases to feel like a refuge and the neighborhood begins to exhale a foreign, almost threatening atmosphere. The compositions are hidden narratives that speak of silent crimes committed on the other side of the wall, of the double lives of people we always considered kind and discreet, and of a silence that is never truly empty, but rather charged with presences and whispers.
The music builds a subtle and progressive tension from small sonic fractures. Whispers that mimic the creaking of walls and indeterminate sounds that resist any clear definition. Grove Anemone intertwines ethereal ambient washes with fading melodic motifs and nervous, granular textures, creating a claustrophobic and hypnotic space. Su nuevo trabajo para el sello, titulado Pęknięcia (Grietas), es una inmersión auditiva en los subsuelos de la aparente calma cotidiana. El álbum explora ese momento inquietante en el que el hogar deja de sentirse como un refugio y el vecindario comienza a exhalar una atmósfera ajena, casi amenazante.
