Sobaki Tabaka marks 30 years since its founding by Robert Ostrolutsky and Vasily Biloshitsky. The Moscow-based band emerged following the dissolution of Crownear, a highly eclectic post-Soviet formation from the late 1980s, and solidified its position by the mid-90s as the leading force in the Russian industrial scene, remaining true to that legacy to this day.

With a deliberately provocative artistic strategy, their influence spread like a virus through television, radio, and theaters, reflecting the breadth of their creative ambitions. Their concerts were intense and visually striking experiences, evoking genre pioneers such as Swans, Missing Foundation, or Throbbing Gristle. In 1997, they recorded their now-legendary debut work, «Into the Brain!», and shortly thereafter shared the stage with Einstürzende Neubauten at a Goethe-Institut festival in Moscow, leaving an indelible mark.

Now, the legacy of this legendary group resonates powerfully. Artists from across the globe are uniting to pay tribute through Sobaki Tabaka Remixes, a monumental album comprising a total of 37 tracks. This collection is a global mosaic of reinventions where each producer, band, or sound creator adopts their unique identity to reinterpret a large portion of the original catalog.

From techno influences to abstract experimentation, industrial, cyber-punk, or thrash metal, each track functions as a distinct lens through which the band’s essence is filtered and transformed. The result is an intense journey that celebrates the timeless influence of their music, while simultaneously charting a map of contemporary sonic avant-garde.
