VVAA – Sardonic Tonality Vol.1 [Haven]

‘Sardonic Tonality Vol.1’ is the third launch of the white series of the Berlin label Haven. 4 cuts of crunchy techno directly oriented to the dance floor.

British producer Ansome opens A-side with ‘Ripper Transistor’, a blunt track with an intimidating punch,  mammoth kicks, crisp percussion, and a rolling synth line ensure a moving dungeon dance floor in this leviathan of a track. The New Zealand producer and co-head of the label, Keepsakes, once again brings his talent to this project. ‘Transgression Via Assimilation’ occupies the second cut of A-side, featuring twisted vocal samples, hellish pads, and pounding drum patterns for fans of demonic techno heaters.

The B-side is kicked off with ‘Scatter’, a hectic pounder from New Frames on the B1, with a hyperactive EBM-style bass-line, tight drum programming and contorted voices making up a frenetic dance floor weapon. Finally, the release ends with ‘Core’, a creepy, tumultuous journey from Russia’s Draag on the B2. Evolving, pulsating synth work and frenzied percussion make up this fevered march down a wormhole.
