Farnakht – Lass Mich Sein

In the often predictable landscape of industrial music, Farnakht, the solo project of Masha Von Farnakht, bursts in with force. Born in 2024 in Seine-Saint-Denis, this project has been defined from the very beginning by its DIY authenticity and its absolute rejection of conformism. Lass Mich Sein is a visceral testimony and an act of political resistance.

The track is the direct result of Masha’s personal experience as a transgender woman within a hostile medical system. The oppressive atmosphere and harsh sonic texture perfectly convey the anxiety and pain generated by the «numerous refusals to prescribe synthetic hormone treatments.» Far from being a merely contemplative piece, Lass Mich Sein stands as a militant anthem. It is a cry for liberation, but also a song about acceptance, belonging, and pride, explicitly dedicated to the entire LGBTQIA+ community «in the solar system and beyond.»

The choice of German for the title and its lyrics is a conscious nod to the genre’s roots and influences like Haus Arafna or Klaus Nomi, anchoring the sound in a European industrial tradition while addressing a contemporary struggle. The project’s own name, Farnakht (Twilight in High German), reflects this intention to create timeless music that reflects on decline, but also on resistance and identity.

The single’s cover art, a DIY homage to master Pierre Soulages using the purple from the trans flag, powerfully completes the visual proposal of an artist who conceives their work as a coherent whole where the personal is, inescapably, political.

En el panorama a menudo predecible de la música industrial, irrumpe con fuerza Farnakht, el proyecto en solitario de Masha Von Farnakht. Nacido en 2024 en Seine-Saint-Denis, este proyecto se define desde el primer momento por su autenticidad DIY y su absoluto rechazo al conformismo. Lass Mich Sein es un testimonio visceral y un acto de resistencia política.

El tema es el resultado directo de la experiencia personal de Masha como mujer transgénero en un sistema médico hostil. La atmósfera opresiva y la textura sonora áspera transmiten a la perfección la ansiedad y el dolor generados por las «numerosas negativas a recetar tratamientos con hormonas sintéticas». Lejos de ser una pieza meramente contemplativa, Lass Mich Sein se erige como un himno militante. Es un grito de liberación, pero también un canto a la aceptación, la pertenencia y el orgullo, dedicado explícitamente a toda la comunidad LGBTQIA+ «en el sistema solar y más allá».

La elección del alemán para el título y su letra es un guiño consciente a las raíces del género y a influencias como Haus Arafna o Klaus Nomi, anclando el sonido en una tradición industrial europea mientras se aborda una lucha contemporánea. El propio nombre del proyecto, Farnakht (Crepúsculo en alto alemán), refleja esta intención de crear una música atemporal que reflexiona sobre el declive, pero también sobre la resistencia y la identidad.

La portada del single, un homenaje DIY al maestro Pierre Soulages utilizando el morado de la bandera trans, completa de manera poderosa la propuesta visual de un artista que concibe su obra como un todo coherente donde lo personal es, ineludiblemente, político.
